It is done, the first public bit of Metaphysis is out! I just linked the SourceForge project directly to my development box. I update all changes daily (on those days I work on it, tho) so you can link your development environment as well. Here is what you need:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Standard or Professional
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
AnkhSVN or TurtoiseSVN 1.6.6

Configure your prefered client to this repository:
h**ps://metaphysis.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/metaphysis/ where "**" is "tt"
Commit a checkout and open the resulting .sln with Visual Studio. You should now be able to compile it.

Important notice! This is not a release or something. You won't be able to render with it unless you write a command line tool (or even an UI ) This part of Metaphysis is not public yet and will be not open source. This is what you may expect for early december - the real end-user software. With installer.

Even more important notice! I can't disallow deriative works from that code but I won't recommend them either. This is not the final Metaphysis and you may not get any progress on whatever project you make with that. This is simply a C# renderer with layer preparations. So please obey the rules of GPL and please at least wait for the final version before you rip my code apart and rape it into a new program. Doing else is just disrespectful because I want to share it with the community and not throw it in the throats of a lion horde.
